| I started Bikram about 8 weeks ago (3-4 x wk) and have been hoping that this problem would get better but it's not. Any insight on what's causing my hip to hurt in certain standing poses would be great. It's usually one side (left) more than the other. I experience the most intense pain when my quadricep is contracted and my hip is bent either to the side (as in triangle pose) or out in front of me (as in separate standing head to knee pose). In standing poses when my hip is straight I do not feel this pain. I wish I knew what was causing it so I would try and fix it. Anyone else have this problem? All I've been able to read about yoga and hip pain is that yoga prevents hip pain! I am finding the opposite in these particular poses. |

| Intense pain is a sign that you are injuring yourself. See a doctor or physical therapist before continuing.
