Tutti,

It is always best to work with a teacher, but its okay to use books, videos, CDs and websites to learn to practice yoga. In fact, several famous yoga teachers started out this way.

You may want to check out YogaBasics.com's Yoga for Beginner's page to learn how to start and what you will need: http://www.yogabasics.com/yogaforbeginner/yogaForBeginner.html

Since it sounds like your kinda stuck and in a crappy situation with no classes around I would suggest reading AND getting a Yoga video. There are so many and even a series of video's as you improve. With a video it will not be as boring and someone else will be demonstrating as you go. It is always helpful to watch something in action. Good luck :)
