| Anyone had experience teaching in both sides of the world? What are the main differences between teaching in the East and West? | |
| |
| The main difference is in the Spiritual Aspect. In the west, yoga has more physical appeal, in terms of fitness, health (physical or sometimes stress relief). In the east, it has more spiritual and mental appeal, and also physical appeal. In the east, Yoga is seldom taught and practiced without spiritual aspects included. In the west, it is mostly physical and spiritual aspects are included at only certain places and in a limited way.
That is the main difference. | |

| .. and what about the approach? I am a fairly 'lively' teacher and also like to give adjustments - I have a feeling I may have to tone this down a little for the more reserved Eastern way of life? | |
