Subject: Pilates as back pain remedy

Hi.
New member here.
My massage therapist told me to try Pilates as a remedy for back pain.
I have some degenerative disc disease in the cervical and sacro- lumbar region.
The latter being the most painful.

Any ideas on how to start a Pilates program?
Can I do anything at home with a mat and maybe instruction video/ book?

Thanks,

Joey

for actual problems like this, and not 'general back pain' your best bet is to work with a teacher.

pilates and yoga will work to remedy a number of problems, but you should definately work with a qualified instructor. for pilates particularly, i would do private (or semi private) instruction.
