It is A FACT THAT ESSENTIAL OILS are absorbed through the skin and it is easy to test this. Take a small smear of lavender oil and put it on your cheek. Pretty soon you will feel the lavender in your mouth and have the distinct impression that the lavender molecules have actually passed through your flesh. For a more impresĀ¬sive result, put a dab of garlic oil on your foot and wait for the aroma to appear on your breath. Then ask yourself, how did the essential oil molecules travel through your body so fast? It's a question that science is not yet able to answer.

Maybe because 9/10 of taste is smell? And both smell fairly distinctly, hence the taste in you mouth. Same way I know what asphalt "tastes" like, without eating it.

There is a book called "Scent and the Phsyic". You should read it and that is why they call it AROMA therapy.
