| Well as my locations says, I'm in Japan, and I'm getting ready to get my first Shiatsu massage. I've only ever had a Swedish massage before, and I loved it, but Shiatsu just seems a whole lot better from what I've read. Being that I'm in Japan, I figured now would be the best time to get one. There's a small Shiatsu place right off base, costs about 3000 yen (about $30) so I think I'm going to sign up to get one done. Anyone have any insight as far as what I should expect? From what I read you don't remove the clothes, and it doesn't involve any oils. Do they do a whole body "massage"? Is it pretty painful? I heard it can be painful at first, and seeing as how I workout just about everyday fairly vigorously, I figure I'm due in for one of these. I figure if all goes well, I can afford to get one at least once a month. Any info on what to expect would be nice, thanks! | |

| I wouldn't say my experience was painful but like any other theraputic massage there can be some discomfort.
Wear loose cotten trousers and top.
It's most often done on a futon on the floor.
It's a bit like having yoga and acupressure done to you.
