Subject: Neti pot problems

Hello,

I know there are lots of posts on here about problems using neti pots but I can't find anything about this specifically.

Whenever I use my neti pot it takes a lot of persistence to get the water to go through the opposite nostril. At the beginning I feel like the water gets "stuck" and pressure builds up until it's actually quite painful. It's almost as if the water has to "dig through" a few times before there's a clear "passage."

Does anyone else experience this? The only thing I can think would be the angle of my head/the pot. But, the water goes through eventually. The start is just so unpleasant that it discourages me from using the pot too often.

Namaste embean!
May I ask you, whether you have learnt this Jala Neti technique from any teacher? If not, then please find a teacher to follow the technique properly. Many things are involve in this technique, to prepare the water, how you stand, how you turn your head while insert the nozzle of the Neti Pot at your nostril etc. You should also keep your mouth open for breathing continuously...
Thanks
