| Hi all! I'm a 45 yo male runner, live in New Jersey. Was thinking about taking yoga to help some of the minor aches and pains associated with running. The local Yoga center offers Bikram and was wondering if this was a good choice for a beginner such as myself.
The heat should not be a problem for me
Thanks

| It is a good starting place for middle aged athelete guys like us deke--it was much tougher than I suspected so check your probably typical guy ego at the door and don't worry about looking foolish--you will but everybody does their first time--welcome to the forum mate--let us know how it goes. |

| I also think it will be good for your aches and pains - particularly in the knees and hamstrings. After a year and a half of bikram, my knees feel great once again, and I can almost straighten my leg fully in every pose where it's required. (Believe me, that's a HUGE improvement!)

| LOL! That's where I was--18 months of Bikram, legs getting straight where they were supposed to--got cocky and pushed and ZAP--there went my back. Well, a weeks rest and motrin and just about all squared away==going to Bikram class Christmas eve morning and will be VERY careful. |

| Brother Bruce:
Happy Holidays or Holy Days. I have a question for you: Was your language like this, I mean xxx, prior to your taking up Yoga or was it caused by the effect of Heated Room on you?

My language has improved substantially since I quit Bikram yoga. Now I no
longer lock my ****ing knee, I no longer pull until my ****ing forehead touches
my god**** toes, I no longer fold myself like Japanese ****ing Ham Sandwich,
and I no longer work for the maximum ****ing medical ****ing benefit.
Ah am refoahmed.
