Original Title: The State Council Inspection Team inspected the direct discharge of sewage and found that the water quality monitoring probe was inserted into the mineral water bottle.
After arriving in Hunan, the eighteenth inspection team of the State Council received reports from local people and environmental volunteers that there was an irrigation canal built in the 1970s in Zhuzhou, which was polluted and stinky due to the arbitrary discharge of domestic sewage along the way. In the process of inspecting Zhuzhou, another team found that there was also an automatic water quality monitoring station in Zhuzhou. The probe which should have been placed in live water was inserted into several mineral water bottles containing dead water.
Under the leadership of local environmental volunteers, inspectors first found the canal and found that the water was black and dirty. As soon as it was near the canal, the pungent odor came in. At the end of the canal, the inspectors found that there was no protection and sewage collection system. The black odorous water flowed into the Longmu River, a tributary of the Xiangjiang River, and then into the Xiangjiang River.
After preliminary water quality testing, it was found that ammonia nitrogen and dissolved oxygen in water body were five kinds of inferior surface water in China, which were not suitable for agricultural irrigation. Subsequently, inspectors went upstream along the canal and came to the home of Yang Xionghui, a resident who had lived here all the time.
