Subject: Bruise after shouldstand in yoga class

Hi,
I have been practicing yoga for two years. Last week after, I did a shoulderstand my spine ached. Since, then I have gone too two class with no concerns. This morning, I notice a huge bruise that runs down my spine. I have all range of motion, but my back aches. Could this be a serious injury and should I back off my practice till the ache decrease? Thank you.

I would definately talk to your teacher about this. I can't imagine how you could get a bruise running down your spine from shoulderstand. I think that an in person opinion is the thing that you need now.
