Subject: Strengthening the Back


I was recently diagnosed with the early stages of Spinal Stenosis, which is the narrowing of the spine, along with early deterioration of my disc between my lower lumbar vertebrae. Is there any form of yoga that will help strengthen this area of the back that will not put a lot of increased pressure or tension to the area?

Any specific reason why you're posting your question in the bikram forum? From what I hear bikram is most probably not the best way to deal with back problems.
Now let's see what the experts think ...

Yes. Imfhunter: You need a private instruction or at least a personal attention instruction with an experienced teacher of Yoga. And, without doubt, you need to improve the diet as best as you can.
