| Is it supposed to hurt the knees during the third portion of utkatasana? Does it suggest that one has arthritis in the knees if it hurts when trying to maintain or come out of the third part of utkatasana? |

| no, it's not supposed to hurt. it can be uncomfortable, but not that 'i'm about to injure myself' pain. this goes for any form of yoga, btw.
but, you might feel heat from increased blood flow which is fine or the discomfort in the thighs (from working) which is fine.
i'm sure there's a modification that your teacher could tell you about. |

I just saw Utkatasana and couldn't resist.
Can you tell me about the third part of the pose please?

Weren't you there??? I could of sworn you were......We had a Bikram meeting last month and decided that in order to post in the Bikram forum, you must complete at least 1 Bikram Yoga Class. Since you did it anyway, you now have to complete 2 full Bikram classes. Good luck to ya man, we'll be waiting for you and can't wait to discuss your experience,

| My knees hurt in Ukatasana but I have a dislocated patella (knee cap) My knees are getting stonger because i have been really locking out my knee instead of hyperextedcing so it helps. Fix firm also gives me a little knee pain.
