Hello, All! Thank you for your thoughtful and in depth responses. This morning, I found an archived post citing an article in the American Health Journal that claimed people taking yoga are 5 times as likely to lose hair than those who are not (and that women are more susceptible than men). I totally agree that the positive effects of taking yoga probably counter the negative ones, but I'm still a bit nervous. That said, I do love the practice! Decisions, decisions...

Again, I'm so thankful for the time you all took to respond to my query. It's lovely to know there is a community like this out there.

Deepest thanks,
BikBabe

I doubt it very much. However, I can say that yoga strengthens a person's sense of humor

I'd like to see the link too, as I'm a bit skeptical. I can see how constantly pulling your hair back/braiding it tightly in preparation for yoga practice could be responsible. Women would be more susceptible than men in that regard. But yoga directly responsible? Meh.

You're welcome, btw!

My hair is fine and I've been practicing yoga since the late 80s.  And my sense of humor is intact too!  Wonder if this will become an urban legend?
