Hi

I started Bikram 2 weeks ago, and so far have gone 6 days each week. So far I enjoy it but have a few questions about some of the positions. One is with the final stretch, spine twist, am I to try to keep both sit bones on the ground?

I can turn 180 quite easily but im only on one butt cheek. So I'm not sure what is more important to focus on. Keeping both sit bones on the ground and less of a twist, or a deeper twist but letting the one cheek up off the ground?

Additionally, is it best to keep my hand on my knee, or is there a better spot for it to allow a better stretch?

Thanks in advance, and i'll probably have about 100 questions over the next couple days So I apologize in advance.

I'm not an expert but the dialogue does say to keep both sit bones on the ground.
hand on knee- that's where it's supposed to go, I don't know if you mean you can reach further or can't reach far enough- I can grab my knee but find my shoulders are more in alignment for a stretch if I just go for the mat in front of me, which is not so far, but the stretch has more integrity.

Going "further" doesn't necessarily mean it is a deeper twist.

keep both sides down. Sometimes you can let it rise up, move the arm and then press it back down.

Plus, what I found, really concentrate on extending the spine, and twist from the base of the spine initially, then let the shoulders follow then finally the head--you'll look like a hootie owl turning its head 180 degrees.
