| Hello everyone! I am totally new to yoga. Unfortunately finances require that I begin at home. I have purchased a DVD with approximately 30 poses. Is it best that I master poses one at a time before trying to begin more fluid practices?

| No idea.....as we do not know what DVD or what asanas......
Get a DVD suitable for beginners......watch it......and do what the teacher suggests. |

| also, best to let go of the idea of "mastering a pose". The goes should not be to "master" a pose (as that can not be accomplished). There certainly are elements to focus on and strive for, but conceptually, you are where you are. Having said that, more focus on a pose will give you more time to settle and examine the pose |

| lMyers If you want to stretch as professionals does then get a trainer for yourself. It is always better to practice yoga under an experts guidance instead of by watching DVDs, Because every human on this earth have their own body composition and their own body limitation and only an expert can tell you what yoga poses are good for you.

| There's no need to spend ANY money to start out. Get some pre-study, know the do's and don'ts and you're set. There's free videos and guides from experts all over. When you are able to invest a little into yoga then perhaps take that as a next step, but again, completely not required. Yoga is not purely a Christmas (for money) business.
Best of luck |

| As i earlier said every one have their different do's and don'ts. Free videos can help you only to know the posture but they cant not tell you is it the right pose for you or not. Videos can not give you variation of the posture according to your body flexibility and condition.
You can't get best for free.

| my point of view this is right because if you are beginner then you have no any idea about yoga so you can watch video and learn basic knowledge of yoga.
thanks,
