Modern time is fast paced, with not enough hours in the day. Long hour sitting jobs, sharp dead lines of projects, tough competition, responsibility of family, poor food selection, breakdown in relations etc are draining happiness and euphoria from our life.
In such stressful life meditation is like a lighting flame in the dark.
Meditation is a psycho physiological practice. It harmonizes and strengthens our psychic first and then shows its positive impact on physical level also. It helps one to strengthen the psychic to meet the daily challenges of life.
In starting you can try out it by simple 10-15 minutes of deep breathing meditation.
• Sit quietly with closed eyes in relaxed manner.
• Place your palm over your stomach and start deep breathing.
• Observe the moment of your palm with your stomach.
• Try to make your breaths deeper and deeper.
• With every exhalation lose your body completely.
• Be aware of your breaths, body and mind.
• Count your breaths as much as you can without diverting your mind.
• After few minutes slowly open your eyes.
This is the simplest meditation practice for every beginner. So don’t wait and prepare yourself to fight against stress with meditation. This practice will help you to overcome your stress and find some inner peace and balance.
Meditation also helps us to understand our own mind. We can learn how to transform our mind from negative to positive, from disturbed to peaceful, from unhappy to happy. Overcoming negative minds and cultivating constructive thoughts is the purpose of the meditation

For someone like Sue, who easily finds bliss in relaxation but avoids stress, developing the ability to stay present in the midst of difficult situations—but without trying to fight against or escape from them—is key. Rather than trying to hide from challenges, Sue has to learn to believe she can handle them. As Amy Weintraub, founder of LifeForce Yoga Healing Institute and the author of Yoga for Depression, puts it, "Sometimes it's important to not simply remove ourselves from the stressful situation, but to feel it in our bodies. Acknowledge stress. Meet it. We can stay present without being controlled by it."
