? Was it a new game, or something else? It's "something else." Bungie's Aerospace venture is a means for the company to connect with new mobile and social NHL games developers and give them the support they need to have successful, high-profile launches. According to the press release, "Bungie Aerospace will give studios the creative freedom and the resources they need, like access to the Bungie platform and an audience with the incredible Bungie community, to launch their entertainment experiences into orbit.""Bungie has always been passionate about making and playing great NHL games, regardless of platform," said Pete Parsons, COO of Bungie. "Bungie Aerospace will allow us to explore game creation in multiple formats with some amazingly talented teams. Now that we've returned to our roots as an independent studio, we are in a position to launch Bungie Aerospace to support, foster and elevate like-minded, independent developers."The first fruits of the project's labors will be a game from Seattle-based developer Harebrained Schemes, known as Crimson. Harebrained is a new studio but its head Jordan Weisman has plenty of experience in the industry, having worked with MechWarrior and Shadowrun universe products and with high-profile companies such as FASA Interactive and Wizkids. He's also worked with Bungie in the past, too -- he was the creative mind behind Halo 2's "I Love Bees" alternate reality game.Neither Bungie nor Harebrained have dropped any details about Crimson as yet, but Bungie says we can expect more details in the weeks to come. In the meantime, you can find out more about the Aerospace project at its official site. This article originally appeared on GamePro as Bungie Aerospace Revealed NHL gamestop To Take Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D Trade-Ins. Yesterday, some anecdotal reports from NHL gamestop employees surfaced, suggesting that the store would not be accepting trade-ins of Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D for Nintendo 3DS, on the grounds that users are unable to reset their save data. This strange decision by Capcom has been widely interpreted to be a direct attack on the preowned NHL games market -- as with this system in place, NHL Coins preowned copies of Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D will be "soiled" by the previous owner's save file which cannot be removed. We contacted NHL gamestop yesterday to find out if the company would be continuing to refuse trade-ins on the game. This is the official statement from the retailer: "NHL gamestop did ask the US store base to stop accepting trades on Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D as we evaluated the save system for the game. Upon further review of the process with our publisher partner, Capcom, NHL gamestop will resume taking trades on the game effective Wednesday, June 29 [today]. For more information regarding the game's save system, please contact Brian Keltner with Capcom at [emailand protected].
