The word Ha-tha is comprised of 2 syllables = Ha-Tha. The syllable “HA” is the the masculine part symbolized by the Sun and “ THA ” is the feminine part represented by the moon . According to yoga in India the third eye of Lord Shiva represents the ceaseless cosmic consciousness and his eternal consort Shakti represents perpetual energy. Together they create the creation and operate it by pervading the multifarious planes of existence.

Hatha Yoga is the oldest form of Indian traditional Yoga that uses the physical means of the body as a medium to access and control the mind. The word Hatha in Hindi means to demand like an obstinate child. Through Hatha Yoga the soul adamantly obtains obedience of the mind and coaxes it into meditation. Hatha Yoga was founded by the ascetic Lord Shiva himself and he is the presiding diety of the ascetic practices of Hatha Yoga. Lord Shiva himself has discarded his clothes and ignored the effects of cold on the icy peaks of the lofty Kailash. There he sits calmly in contemplation of supreme cosmic consciousness.
