More than two hundred years ago, a small team of craftsmen from Laizhou, Shandong, drifted to Dalian. Their craft included civil works, wood carvings, stone carvings, brick carvings, color paintings, etc., and later settled in Tuchengzi Town, Jinzhou.
Sun Jingnian, who lives in Pulandian City, is the descendant of these artists. He inherited and carried forward the ancestors' wood carving skills. His works are as natural as they can be. Sun Jingnian was influenced by the family in his early teens and had a strong interest in wood carvings and began to learn wood carvings.
At that time, his father and brother had already displayed the wood carving technique on furniture and became a leader in the local wood craftsman. Sun Jingnian’s father placed great hopes on him and hoped that he could inherit and develop this technique.
