304 stainless steel is often used in the inner layer (ie, directly in contact with water) because of its excellent corrosion resistance. 201 stainless steel is often used in the outer layer of the insulated water tank because of its poor corrosion resistance and the inability to use the inner layer. However, the price of 201 is lower than that of 304, and it is often used by some unscrupulous merchants to impersonate 304. The stainless steel water tank made of 201 stainless steel has a very short service life and often corrodes water by 1-2 years, leaving users with safety hazards.
Let's teach you to identify these two materials in a simple way:
1. 304 and 201 stainless steel used in stainless steel water tanks, the surface is usually matt. Therefore, we identify by means of the naked eye and hand touch. The 304 stainless steel has a good gloss and bright touch, and the hand touch is very smooth; the 201 stainless steel is dark and dull, and the touch has a rough and uneven feeling. In addition, the hand is wet with water, and the two kinds of stainless steel plates are touched respectively. The water-stained handprint on the 304 plate is easier to erase, and 201 is not easy to erase.
2. Use the sander to install the grinding wheel to gently polish the two plates. The spark of the 201 plate is longer, thicker and more polished. Otherwise, the spark of the 304 plate is shorter, thinner and less. The strength must be light when grinding, and the two kinds of grinding power are consistent, which is convenient to distinguish.
3. Apply stainless steel pickling paste to two stainless steel plates. After 2 minutes, look at the change in the color of the stainless steel at the smear. The color is black, 201, whitish or not discolored to 304.
