I am thinking of starting a yoga class at my gym. Can you give me a few pointers to lok for in a class. I would like to ease some of the stress in my life and also lose weight in the process. The gym is offering Pilates twice a week. How many days a week would you ercommend to a beginner like me. They also have regular yoga stretching classes twice a week. Thank you Darlene

Yoga is a very popular form of fitness that can help you achieve your both your phyisical and spiritual fitness. You have already begun to define your objectives of weight-loss, fitness and stress reduction which is a good step in determining what you want to achieve from yoga exercise. You can think further about whether or not you want to emphasize your routine on phyisical fitness or meditation and stress reduction.

I will e-mail a desription of some of the different types of yoga and then you might consider trying a variety of classes to find the type of yoga that best meets your needs.

Good luck.

Julia
