Unfortunately, yoga can be expensive--but it doesn't have to be. I recommend buying a good yoga tape or dvd ($20 maybe) or yoga book($20 maybe). Make sure that your sources are well-known yogis--not just aerobics type instructors. Then practice daily from there. You don't necessarily need a teaher, but the internet can only take you so fair in a pose. And you really want to get a good idea about the feeling of the pose. Also, look for nonexpensive studios-- my studio was hard to find but it is only $65/month for unlimited yoga--it is even less if you are a student. There are studios out there not so interested in the money. Overall, if you want to progress in your practice, you will need some kind of mentor and facilitator--not so much a teacher. Your inner voice is the best teacher!! Namaste.

All i can say is, if you can't find a teacher, buy a book that will get you started. I suggest you find a well paying job(that depends on how old you are) that will help you find a teacher. In the mean time, a book would do just find!

-Bye!

It is always a good idea to get a proper guidance from a yoga teacher while performing yoga as the teacher will help you perform your yoga poses with a ease and see to it that you perform your poses perfectly. But as you said that you can't afford for a yoga teacher then you will have to search for various yoga retreats and meditation retreats that help learn without or very less fees. Search for it.
