Subject: Is this right for me?

Hi. I'm 14 and I've been taking karate, kickboxing and boxing for almost a year now. I feel phyicaly strong but I need my mind to be menatly strong as well. Is yoga a good workout for me. My parents don't really support my idea of being into yoga as well as being a vegetarian. Can you give me any tips on why yoga is good for a perosn at my age?

Because yoga is an absolutely harmless discipline for anybody at any age, or better it's even helpful to learn how to relax physically and mentally.

Say that to your parents, and also try to explain them your passion for yoga, meditation etc., that's to say the way you feel when you practice them.

I would find out why your parents object to yoga. Even if you present evidence that's good for you, your parents may not be convinced. Once you know what your parents object to, then you can successfully address their concerns. If that fails, you might find they will be less objectionable to you pursuing Tai Chi. Tai Chi has it's roots based in the martial arts but it a very soft form and offers many of the same benefits that yoga does.
