| I'm roughly in your area and can't recommend anything for Ashtanga, although there are people teaching it. There are no Authorized or Certified people up there and I like to go to those actually trained in what they're teaching. Even if "trained" is a word used loosely with Ashtanga teachers. The only authorized studio on the Mid-Atlantic is in DC. It's the Ashtanga Yoga Center and their schedule is here. Greater Baltimore Yoga has a fellow teaching who has a beautiful practice. There are several people who have taken the David Swensen teacher trainings (40 hours of technical training NOT certification!> which I think makes for a safe teacher. Although no site is complete in its listing, here's a good site for local studios: YogaFamily.com. I update him when I find something, rather than bothering to recreate the wheel myself with separate listings. You're welcome to email me privately to discuss my experiences with local teachers if you'd like. Welcome to the area. I recommend making the drive down to the Ashtanga Center. Make a day of it.
