| Yoginis = female. You're asking about women?
There is no governing yoga body (no pun intended) who keeps these stats. There isn't an umbrella organization for certification, either. Each tradition has its own requirements for teaching and offering certificates. Many studios offer "certification" which may or may not mean one has received an education qualfiying them to safely teach yoga. The closest thing to an industry standard are the requirements (which are still far too general) set by the Yoga Alliance, which then permits someone to call themselves a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT). An RYT could be from any single to a mixed background, but it states that they've completed certain study and practice hours.
You might contact Yoga Journal for how many studios they believe are opening each year. But that's going to be based upon those who can afford to pay for advertizing. On the other hand, the IRS might know, too, because studios must apply for Tax ID numbers.
In the world? Get real. Dearheart, you need to narrow your scope dramatically. The one statistic that I knew was true as of last year, was that up until last year 98% of the people in the United States practicing yoga were women. Now (since it's a great money making venture -- similar to what happened to the travel industry in the 80s) it's 87% female dominated, but the majority of the new studio owners and investors were men. But that was last year and I can't quote my source because I can't remember.
Good luck!
