Subject: the black manduka mat, purchasing by the roll

Does anyone know where I can order this mat by the roll? I'm in a teacher training program in NYC and a bunch of us are interested in buy mats so we want to subdivide. I've heard of people doing this, but I can't find a source doing online searches.

I think huggermugger has a similar mat that they MAY sell by the roll, not sure, and i heard it is lighter in weight but just as good. I think they call it the Mandara Mat

Don't waste your money with poor substitutions. It is not a Manduka Mat if it's thinner. What's the point? Just because it's black doesn't make it the real thing, right?

Drop a note to David Ingalls at Ashtanga Yoga DC because he orders in bulk and can give you an idea. I don't have the email off the top of my head, but that link will take you to his site.

You can also just do a search on Manduka Mats and vendors (used to) come up.

It's a great idea to buy in bulk, because you can cut them with a rotary cutter. Taller people can get a mat that's their size, vs. hanging off a "normal" one.

I have seen it for sale in europe. Try a google search "europe yoga mat". I think the name of the site in yogasite.com or .uk I hope that is of some help.

Cheers,

They only come in boxes. Five per box for the 71" and 4 per box for the 100" The more boxes you buy, the cheaper they get. The only place to get a real Manduka Mat is from www.manduka.com. Good luck.

I have not seen the Manduka mats sold by the roll. However, if you need a very well made and different mat carrier, I have the perfect one for your group.
The easiest way to carry your mat. The unique mat carrier features a durable woven material and heavy duty webbing with an adjustable shouder strap. Easy "Velcro" adjustment to accommodate your rolled-up mat and/ or blanket. Up to 5 1/2 inches diameter. Available in green or silver. A Ying and Yang logo on the straps. All hand made in the usa.
