| Hello everyone my name is Nicole. I am new to yoga. I have been practicing Hatha for 3 months now and I love how I feel because of it. Due to my occupation in Business Admin., I don't have much time to practice during normal hours (mostly I have to leave work early to practice...the boss isn't impressed). I have been browsing the web for a while and came across an interesting site that offers begginer, intermediate and advanced videos to download: http://www.appliedzen.com/index.asp?Sec_ID=129 They have a free sample that I have watched and liked, and was wondering if anyone has heard of getting downloadable courses of the net for yoga practice and if this is good way to practice? Before I purchase their videos I wanted some other yoga practioners' feedback and to know if this is a bad way to practice Yoga. Please let me know what you think as I am really interested in seeing what its like. I wish I could get a personal teacher, but I just don't have the time. Thanks in advance for your feedback!
Best Wishes for the Holidays

| Not unless you are more familiar with basic yoga postures. Some of the sites overlook the counter-indications etc. I'd rather develop my yoga practice with a teacher then practise them at home.
I was looking at studying yoga online and eventually decided not too as I felt I knew a little better!
Good luck! |

| this goes for all yoga videos/dvds and online courses: how can you watch the screen and do the poses at the same time? the only way it would work is if you watched the video over and over until you had memorized the "routine" and then used the audio as a guide.
nicole, what about evening or satuday/sunday classes? or maybe you can convince the boss to bring a teacher in for you and all of your colleagues. patagonia does it.....
