Subject: mat question

has anyone tried the new maha mat by prana? I've been practicing with a manduka mat for the past few years and love the shock absorbency, but wish it were stickier. Thoughts?

I have a prAna rug, is that what you mean? It's blue striped.... I like it b/c it's "winter" here in FL and the floors can be cold. It's a rough enough texture that I don't usually have to mist it (though I've given it a good squirt w/ the water bottle if I roll the rug out mid practice). It washes well, I air dry it and though it's shrunk a bit, it's still longer/ wider than my average sized mat.

No, its not the rug. I have a rug as well, which I love for primary series, but I've been doing second series for the past year, and for some reason, I don't like the rug for the belly down backbends.

Prana has a new black mat that seems to be the same weight as manduka black mat, but the same texture as their regular mat. I'm curious about it's grip and stability since I recently heard that Prana changed to a duragrip over the past year.
