| i seem to have picked up a little sinus cold. i was thinking of adding a couple of drops of tea tree oil into my neti pot. i would use graprefruit seed extract, but i gave it to hubby for his trip!
i have gargled with a tea tree/water solution before with good results. |

I've been on trips from a many a substance - but grapefruit???
Earnest, I haven't tried tee trea oil yet, seems to be THE CRAZE these days. Only thing going up my nose though is pure salty sea water, which works quite well with sinusitis (for me).

| grapefruit seed extract is the bomb!!!
it tastes horrid but works like a magic potion!
i was giving it out in india to all the sick and weary travellers. i personally cured more than one case of "dehli belly" with it.

i love tea tree as well but it cant be ingested. gse can. that is why i would prefer it over tea tree.
i will give the regular neti a try first. |

I wouldn't ingest anything likely to give me a unhappy stomach
if I were to swallow a bit, so I dunno about tea trea oil. The
grapefruit seed extract sounds interesting! I am in the market
for a good neti pot: any suggestions?

yeah, i decided not to use tea tree but i still have this annoying little sniffley nose....as for neti pots, i know they make all sorts but i have to say mine is just this cheap little plastic number and it works great. i thought this site had some good info:

i think i paid 5 or 10 rupees for mine. i just wish i bought more of them!
honestly, if you are like me and go to the doctors only when dying or when husband threatens to withhold nightly rituals then grapefruit seed extract is the stuff for you. i highly recommend it. |

| This may sound yucky, but I use a teapot (that's never been used for tea, mind you) with a fairly wide spout so that it's good for plugging up the nose but is small enough to fit into my schnoz. In a city like Las Vegas where not too many people are too concerned with health, much less holistic health, it's kinda hard to find a place that sells a decent neti pot that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.
Easternsun, have you tried a really tiny amount of peppermint, spearment, or eucalyptus essential oil? It sort of works like Vicks Vaporub! Works wonders for my sinuses when the pollution gets bad here in the Vegas valley. |
