| after many years of sports activity, I suffer back and knee pain due to wear & tear!
I am keen to keep fit, but want something which benefit me without strain!
As a complete novice, can anyone advise a books on yoga movements or styles which I could benefit from? |

| Been there Graham--years of running, wrestling, boxing and free weights had me beat up and sore most of the time--started yoga nearly two years ago and I'm cured of those maladies. Please, please, please--by your own admission, you're a complete novice--any yoga practice is going to get you on your way but don't do it alone--get thee to a class mate--learn without getting hurt or discouraged. |

In your case, no books should be used and a real cclass should be taken.

| Now Brother Neel--why couldn't you just have said, "Yeah--what Bruce said"? I need positive stroking now that in another thread my testosterone level was questioned. |

| I apologize with Big Brother Bruce. Since your language has been hard for me at times, I tend to skip when it seems difficult. Yes, what Big Brother said is fantastic, nay, it must be obeyed!!!!

| Now that's much better--thanks gents. Wise Brother Neel--I'm in the process of learning Sanskrit from a co-worker--Dr. Ranendra Bhattacharyya from India. When I master that, oh say in 10 years or so--hopefully I'll be better able to be clear for you. |

| Bruce,
Until then, I'll just bet that Brother Neel would understand some interpretive dance. Since there are no words, it should be universal. I think I can speak for most of us here in that we would love to see a video clip of you pouring your feelings of yoga and back problems into one smooth expression of dance...oh yeah, and make it macho. |
| Interpretive dance??? Well that ain't gonna happen--I'd sooner go into mime training. |
| Yes Brother Bruce, go for it. For what? That you will understand once you start the dance.
