Ohmygosh! I just clicked on this thread. I didn't bother before b/c I am not that into movies but I'm glad I did. I just heard of 'Million Dollar Baby' after it won was it best director? (I'm not much on Hollywood either). Anyway, I boxed for several years (and I am a female last time I checked). I wasn't going to see it because I ABHOR what the media in general has done to women's boxing (and what some of women's boxing has done to women's boxing). I will see the movie. I hope it finally gives women's boxing a little credibility. I have to say that the obstacles women have to fight just to get in the ring and perhaps get taken a little seriously are far more difficult than the training. There are some true warriors out there. My husband and I met at a martial arts function and we sparred and boxed together for years (we built a ring in our backyard). I am anxious to see this now as I nearly broke my neck training (ruptured a disk and had to have surgery but thankfully did not break) training for a competition. I probably shouldn't have been training with this guy (he was way to big) but finding other female training partners and competitors is a problem. That is where so many of the injuries happen. Sorry to ramble but it is rare that I get two of my passions (boxing and yoga) combined in one thread! And I didn't start it?

After a little searching with Google, I found a web site with stills from the film. Madonna is
doing Eka Pada Sirsasana very comfortably and Chakorasana reasonably well (although she's
completely given in to the natural tendency to pronate the upraised foot in that asana...one
needs to keep the adductors active in that pose).

They probably didn't like the gay character. In the US, there are a number of
people who are very intolerant of gays.

Hey - I think I'll rent it. Thanks for calling my attention to it. Should be good watching (I don't really care about the story line). Besides my husband is a big Madonna fan so he'll love it.

I'm watching the most beautiful Bollywood movies...but bring your hanky!  It's called Kisna - The Warrior Poet.  The Indian actress does some really cool yoga postures.  This is the last movie that Amrish Puri starred in before he died recently.  I'm halfway through it (these movies are soo long).  Amrish Puri is the Indian actor that starred in "Indiana Jones, Temple of Doom".  He played that bad guy.

To add to the list of good movies while I'm here...I happen to love Bollywood movies... my favorites are:

Kal Ho Naa Ho - a tear jerker filmed in my favorite city - NYC

Devdas - another tear jerker

Hum Tum - this is a happy fun movie with a great soundtrack!

Mahabatein - another great soundtrack movie

Koyla - a Shah Rukh Khan oldie but goodie

Kaho Naa...Pyaar Hai - great soundtrack too!

Tumko Na Bhool Paayenge

Go to erosentertainment.com if you can't find them

Cyndi who loves Shah Rukh Khan - what an incredible actor

Oops I watched it at last.. Madonna’s yoga movie J “The next best thing”

Its quite a cool movie I should say.. I’m not her fan at all.. But its nice….

She is a yoga teacher. Her fiancé left her coz she is a complicated smart woman (He needs to date with a dumb woman it seems ) Accidentally she slept with her best friend (who is known as a gay) and she got pregnant. She became a mum and her best friend became a dad.. One day a new yoga student walked in to her yoga studio.. And everything changed after that….. You guys watch it and find out

If you are a foodie you need to watch "Mostly Martha" - a German film about a very dedicated and slightly nutty female chef, her 8 year old neice and an also slightly nutty male Itialian chef. The food scenes are practically edible. I"m pretty sure I could smell the food a couple of times! And I loved the fact that she would go and tell a customer he was too stupid to eat her food.
