Location: New Jersey | Hi everyone,
My new job is going to require that I be on my feet for about 95% of the time. What poses would be recommended for reversing the bad effects that being on you for that long. After my first day, my feet and lower back were killing me. Child's pose helped my back alot, and legs up the wall pose took some of the sting out of my feet. (I did the Flow Series video with Tracy Rich and Ganga White) From that and other reading I've done it seems that inversions would be good? Are there any other poses that anyone would suggest?
Thanks!

Location: New Jersey | Definitely alot of corpse pose! I won't be working eight hour days. I'm working in a restaurant as a server while I'm in school, so the shifts are usually only about four or five hours. After a busy ****f, four or five hours does tend to feel like eight though!

| Inversions yes, but standing poses might put a bit of oomph back in the legs by making them active. Pavanna muktasana and supta padangustasana variations are great to loosen up the back. Take care of yourself! |

| Give yourself to Swami (Dr.) Scholl's--myriad insoles available that will help keep you in alignment and cushion the feet. |

| In 'Light on Yoga' BKS Iyengar recommend supta virasana for runners and those that have to stand for long periods. I quote here : ' Several of my pupils who were cadets at the national defence academy after long route marches found great relief by combining this asana with sarcangasana I '. |

| Samantha:
Poses for your situation: 1. Inversions 2. Extra Sleep (NOT shavasana) 3. Lighter diet 4. And, avoiding work during the Working Hours, that is Flunking.
