Subject: Asana and Philosophy

I approached yoga about five years ago as a way to get into shape. I thought that it was visually very beautiful and wanted to learn how to do that. I found peace in it. I found moments of stillness in my drishti points that I had never experienced before. I began to become a better person in the rest of my life. From that point on I wanted more. I have actively pursued the spiritual part of yoga since almost the beginning of my practice. I did not get into it with that intention, but quickly latched on to the possibilities that it presented me.

I am so happy to find a place to talk about this! I am in teachers college and just do not have time right now to go to workshops and discuss these things. Maybe someday soon!!
