Subject: different yoga breakthrough!

First, thanks to all who were so wonderfully supportive when I was so scared going into my surgery. Tomorrow it will have been 5 weeks ago - it seems like a year!

While the first few weeks were rough, since then I've been using yoga and Pilates to heal myself, and it has gone much MUCH easier than the last 3 surgeries! I feel like a million bucks, really - I even lost 5 lbs (which is an improvement from a similar surgery six years ago, which resulted in a 50 lb weight gain! ).

Also, in the interest of eventually teaching full-time, I managed to get lots rolling on my yoga business! I was hired to teach at the YMCA on weekends, asked to do a Women's Health workshop at a yoga studio in a neighboring town, started up a Prenatal Yoga class just down the block, and recorded some Yoga Nidra meditations on CD per the request of some of my students. I also figured out how to make yoga mat bags out of upholstery samples, and Ebay sales have been brisk! I'm so happy - I just knew that the yoga in my life could grow if I were able to put some real energy into it!

The real test comes Monday, when I must return to my Day Job, pushing paper in a soulless cubicle 9 hours/day. If I can just maintain my energy and focus, I know I will eventually be teaching all the time instead of doing this. Boy I'm dreading going back!! It makes my heart pound and my stomach flip whenever I think about it!

Congratulations, Jean! Sounds like things are going great for you! Maybe the surgery came at just the right time to give you a chance to work on the yoga track! And worry about Monday when it gets here..YOu still have 3 whole more days to relax.

So glad to here your surgery went well and your recovery went well. I would have been terrified of surgery too - I've never experienced it. Hope the office return goes well.

Best of luck for getting back to your regular yoga practice.

Audrey

P.S. You cats are going to miss you being home all day!

Thanks Neel! That made me giggle.

I shall have to keep that in mind if the office starts to bring me down - I must be casual, because I am the Jean of Yoga!!
