Subject: Good thoughts are appreciated

Hi all,
just received a disturbing message from Germany. My older sister is in hospital where she had to undergo a cancer operation in the ovaries. They had to remove the ovaries but it turned out that the cancer is of the evil kind and the doc couldn't remove it completely due to massive bleeding (caused by a dilletant gyno a few days before). Yesterday she could be removed from the ICU to the normal station where she now has to recover her strenght in order to make further operations or therapy possible.
My bro-in-law (who like my wife also suffers from MS) is now at home alone and scared to death ... understandably. We can do nothing but wait. Terrible situation!

So I ask everybody to please include my sister Ute in your friendly thoughts or prayers or whatever you do. She's a very nice lady and doesn't deserve something that bad. I don't pray but I think of her all the time. That's pretty much all I can do right now. Also this is a excellent opportunity to work on our dharma, don't you think?

Thank you very much!

PS: Strange, before I got involved with yoga I would never ever had thought about asking complete strangers in a internet forum for things like that.

PPS: Bruce, any news from Kay? She's not forgotten.

I'm so sorry that your family has to endure so much turmoil right now! I will include your sister in my prayers (for lack of better word). I will also include you and your brother-in-law . . . having been on both sides of the hospital bed, I know it's sometimes even harder to be helpless and worried to death about the ones you love.

We all love you here Superafro! Don't be shy about asking for whatever you need!

THANK YOU ALL SO VERY MUCH! You are good souls alltogether!

I really appreciate your good wishes, prayers and positive energy. Keep them coming.
I will tell my bro-in-law about it when I have him on the phone the next time. So he can relate it to my sis in hospital. Heck, I'm even thinking about get myself a ticket and fly over there but who'll take care of my wife in the meantime? No, I think I just gonna stay put and sit it out. There's not much that I can really do now anyway, is it?

I pray, and I will pray for your sister Ute, as well as you and your family - I'm so sorry she (and all of you!) are going through all of this.  My best friend is battling cancer and it is so heartbreaking.

I think that yoga expands the spirit, regardless of one's beliefs - I'm glad you reached out & asked for support & prayers!

Namaste,

Echo

Add my best wishes to her as well Sefan--sorry I missed this thread somehow. And as you asked above, our former forum member Kay (Grannyrunner) is doing OK. She had a relapse after the holidays but came back upbeat.

Subject: No good news

Hi all!
As promised I shall report the newest developments. It's bad!
The specialists still haven't found out what kind of cancer this exactly is but they've found a second tumor that rapidly spreads as well. So they've decided not to wait any longer and today started with the strongest and most radical chemo-therapy. The docs expect anacatharsis and hairloss to start very soon, maybe already tonight. This procedure is life-threatening by itself and they fear that my sister will maybe not be strong enough to live through it. The chemo will last for full 5 days and nights although my sister is very weak and completely depressive already they say it's neccesary.
My mom just called and said how shocked she was when she saw my sis in hopsital today. Since my sister was reluctant to see anybody except her hubby my parents haven't seen her for more than two weeks. My mom said it's really terrible to see how fast a human being is destroyed by cancer. She's hardly recognizable anymore, has lost a lot of weight and looks like a ghost already.
So Mrs Afro and her little yogic hubby will probably have to book an overseas flight very soon.

That's all I have for today. More and better news hopefully soon.

Sending thoughts & prayers your way, Stefan.   My best friend is in dire straits and in hospital with colon cancer right now - it is devastating and my heart is with you & Mrs. Afroyogi.  Travel safe & keep us posted!
