I just want to thank all of you who advised me on my aches & pains from overdoing it the other day - I believe I just have to take one day a week with either no exercise or just pranyama, and put a little more variation into the other days.  I've been trying to formulate a schedule of sorts that will incorporate my yoga practise (with varying workouts) with aerobics and walking, but it's been difficult to plan...

At any rate, thanks to all of you kind folks for your advice!

Namaste,

Echo

Cool.

I know it's hard to harness that drive of yours. It took 2 children to slow me down.

(Though technically, I did fight it in the beginning. I could only exercise when my newborn slept for longer than 15 minutes, which meant me working out at 3:30 in the morning. I know...I'm an idiot, and my body let me know it too.)

What helps me is knowing that rest and recovery need to work hand in hand with the actual exercise, otherwise I just burn out, and my workouts go from "great" to "pathetic."

Overtraining can also leave you open to more infections, and you could find yourself getting that common cold just a little more often than everyone else. Blech.

Grab a book and enjoy your day off ~ you sound like you've earned it.
