Congrats Glenda--we're just silly with expert yogis these days! No freebies though--experts already have everything and need nothing.

Bruce - 2005-04-11 12:24 AM No freebies though--experts already have everything and need nothing. But experts (we call them "fundis" in SA) in poor developing countries are in dire need actually! No, just kidding, I'm a mighty rich european so I don't need anything. Really. Honest to god. I'm fine ... don't worry about this barefooted streetchild ... BTW, welcome to the club, Glenda! Contrary to me you've earned your expert status.

Thushara - 2005-04-11 5:37 AM do you think its easy to write 1000 posts HUH ???? Well, I found it rather easy. I just avoided to admit my cluelessness by not getting involved too deeply into expert yogi discussions and wrote a lot of off-topic BS instead. And before I could do a proper Surya Namaskar I was already an expert. By the way, Thushi, Bruce is not associated with the yogadotcom business but only friendly enough to act as a volunteer moderator in this forum. So please don't blame HIM for THEIR cheapness! And I'm really fine, still ... the dirt on my body will wash off eventually. I don't feel the need for a mat, even now that we had the worst rainstorms in the decade and I had to practice in a deep puddle of mud. Don't worry, yoga.com people! I will survive it for I am an Expert Yogi!!!

Expert Yogi Posts: 8442 | >>I had to practice in a deep puddle of mud.<< Sounds like something the Iron Johns might want to look into.... (Psssst - this is a great lead in for someone. Go ahead and say it!)

Expert Yogi Posts: 2479 Location: A Blue State | I'll have you know that the Iron Johns practice some very profound cleansing exercises, and that you girls are just jealous when you say we'd roll in mud puddles. We are working on some cleansing exercises for couples, but since you girls all ran off to buy shoes while we were in the sweat lodge, it's not clear that you are pure enough to join us. So nah!

I will survive it for I am an Expert Yogi!!! Don’t feel bad afro., I have learnt a lot from you too..... And If there is no fun and only the serious discussions, this forum will be really bored. To be honest, some times I feel bad coz I always ask ask ask and ask.,and ask too much very rarely I answer to somebody’s question. But its due to 3 things, one is when I see another senior yogi has replied., I feel my answer is quite unnecessary or another could reply better than me., The other thing is I have very limited time and I write while I work., so I always try to make fun or just to clarify the questions I have. These days I have no much probelm as its SL new year and people are on vacation. and no much work Though I have read a lot in some of the areas, my native language is not English., so its difficult for me to express my knowledge in a particular subject some times. Yes we have to be thankful to all the people here who share their knowledge, for me actually I learn from the forum yogis as much as I learn from my actual gurus., So I treat most of these forum yogis as my gurus. About yoga mats.. Hey Bruce.. don’t take it too serious what I said Its more of a joke or to annoy you ) Oh I didn’t know that till Afro said!! BTW “Who is” tells me that yoga.com domain belongs to you coool cool coool Edited by Thushara 2005-04-12 1:19 AM

We are working on some cleansing exercises for couples, but since you girls all ran off to buy shoes while we were in the sweat lodge, it's not clear that you are pure enough to join us. So nah! BG., just an irrelevant question to you….I have seen sometimes you type "no? " after sentences.. This is a habit by Sri Lankans and Indians when they talk.,(I use "Yeah?" instead "no?") I recently learnt that Greeks use this too (more similar way).. But you are an American and from where you learnt this??? I haven’t heard Americans talk like that… I’m just curious you know

Expert Yogi Posts: 2479 Location: A Blue State | Now that you mention it, my Sri Lankan friend does indeed use that "no?", usually very politely as if to check whether he's made a mistake. However, I've heard Frenchmen do that "no?" at the end of a sentence, usually after they've given some explanation of why you are wrong, as if to rub your nose in the obvious. Go to England, and people say things like "It is [blah blah blah blah blah], isn't it?". Then they wait for you to say "Yes" or "It is". Amuse yourself someday by NOT answering the "isn't it?". I deal with people from all over the world, and I've certainly picked up many linguistic inflexions from them.

Thushara - 2005-04-12 7:18 AM Don’t feel bad afro., I have learnt a lot from you too..... But exactly what have you learned from me? How to ditch classes and still pretend to be a super-yogi? However, I'm mostly humbled by your compliment. Thushara - 2005-04-12 7:18 AM But its due to 3 things, one is when I see another senior yogi has replied., I feel my answer is quite unnecessary or another could reply better than me., See, there's the difference. I just can't shut up and at least feel the need to second an expert's answer. Thushara - 2005-04-12 7:18 AM Though I have read a lot in some of the areas, my native language is not English., so its difficult for me to express my knowledge in a particular subject some times. Same here! Although I remember that I once had english classes in school, this was a million years in the past and I forgot it completely, aight! I had to re-learn it new when I started travelling and internet surfing. I write in a style that I steal from the naturals and that changes daily, sometimes tending to the british and sometimes to the american direction. So, depending on my most recent input I like to add the infamous "isn't it" as well, sometimes I even dare to go street wise and try the really cool Ali G like "innit?". After all I think my babble is cleary recognisable (brit.) or recognizable (am.) as a very poor version of denglish. You should hear me talk, I zpeak like ziz.
