I came across this:

http://acharya.iitm.ac.in/sanskrit/tutor.html

Can any of your expert yogis tell me if it looks like it would be any good? It is a 12 lesson free course.

Thanks!

Thank you very much Twisti, it looks like a great site.

I hope you will forgive my ignorance, but does anyone in the world practice that language? Is it
like greek or latin, a scholarly language used in the interpretation of the classics?

An Indian colleague of mine told me once that sanskrit formed the basis of European languages, and that it maybe predated even chinese script.

Sorry for my twist on Jeansyoga. Yes, there are many families in India, today (12 April 2005) who speak Sanskrit at home, and they only know that language. Also, most of the scholars of Vedas, Yoga, and Ayurveda in India also know Sanskrit quite well. For example, I myself know it quite well. So, it is not a dead language as it is wrongly understood. Now, I do not know about Latin and Greek, so I am not one to compare.

There is NO question that the roots of European and Sanskrit and also English are the same. Which came from which will always be a debate issue. However, Sanskrit is Older than English and European language. And, Aryans going from Europe to india, and establish Vedic Culture, is all bogus, in US language, it is bull****.
