| I am in the market for a good reference book for muscles, joints, tendons, etc so I can understand more what's going on my body and know what's aching, why it hurts and how I can make it feel better. I've looked on Amazon and their are tons, but I'm not sure what are the best (though any of them would probably help me!) I'd like to find one that is friendly to yogi's not just weight lifters.
Does anyone have any good suggestions? |

I also like the Anatomy of Movement

| I also recommend the Anatomy of Hatha Yoga (haven't read the other one that Yoga Guy recommends but will check it out!)
Another good book is "the Muscle Book" by Paul Blakey...he is an osteopath who used to be a dancer... |

| Tha Anatomy Colouring Book is wonderful. Colouring in the muscles etc. helps a LOT. I also have an old medical anatomy book given to me by a student who is a physician. The language can be pretty dry but it is a nice supplement to the colouring book. Also, Gray's Anatomy is online free at Bartelby.com. It is the "bible" of anatomy. |

| One of my teachers made a joke about consulting her "coloring book" when she was trying to explain help out another student. I kinda thought she was joking. Maybe it was the same one you speak of!

| Anatomy of Movement is fantastic! Lots of detailed information, explained simply without a lot of elaboration. Great drawings, too.
I love the Anatomy Coloring Book too. I also have the Physiology Coloring Book but I thought I'd finish coloring in the other one first, since it is even more detailed and complex. |

| OK..I have "Anatomy of Hatha Yoga" coming to me via Amazon! I'm very excited...especially now that I might have injured myself and will know specifically what is going on (well, almost).
I was torn between that book and the "Anatomy of Movement" but the yoga one was $2 cheaper for the same amount of pages and relative equal ratings. So there you go.
Thanks for the reccomendation! |
