Subject: new to the forum and pilates

hi everybody

this is my first post here and i just wanted to say hello and get in my first question. i have just started doing pilates this week. i love it and so far feel it is the most non agressive work-out i have done. i am hoping to see results very soon.

my problem is ( and i am ashamed to say it ) is that i am having trouble getting the breathing part done right. i have been breathing wrong my whole life--sucking in to breath and expanding my stomach to breath out. now i am trying to learn to breath the right way while engaging my ''' power house '''.

here is my question--when i start a exercise do i engage the power house with each breath and release it each time or do i keep my power house going during the whole session? as you can see, i am totally needing help here and could use some good informative help.

thanks guys for any advice
