| I tore my left medial meniscus in february 2005. I started doing bikram yoga in july 2005, I believe that it helped greatly with healing my injury. I refused to have surgery. well, I think I did the same thing to my other knee. It is not as severe. I am able to walk, just cant bend knee all the way without it locking (painfully). How long should I wait until returning to yoga. I really think it will help my injury and am anxious to go back. I just dont want to injure it more than it already is. |

| Seek medical attention. Once you find a doctor, rehab person that you groove with things will get better. Educate yourself fully on YOUR injury. There is a specific yoga book for knees...

knee injury is a *****
and i should know
if you're not interested in surgery, but interested in alternatives to surgery, perhaps look into prolotherapy. it was pretty effective for me.
here is a website:

Location: London, England | hi there,
How did you tear your meniscus the first and second times? Locking of the knee is usually a sign of meniscus injury, so it looks like you might well have done it again-there should be some kind of prize!
