Subject: Jammy knee

Hi,
I've had a slightly dodgy knee since the age of eighteen. It's not a problem unless I want to run for more than a half hour (which I increasingly do) or walk more than ten miles or so at a time. I suspect that yoga may have somewhat improved this by strengthening the muscles that insert around the knee. My question concerns weight training. If I do WT to speed up this process can I reduce the issue of muscle shortening by doing fewer repetitions that are prolonged (lifting/releasing more slowly)?
Thanks in advance.

I know when running you need to have strong back thigh muscles. It keeps the knee strong and aligned. If you do excersizes for strengthening that muscle it might help.

i agree... just exercise and of course ask help from a doctor on what's the best and effective routine for your condition...
