| Are their any reputable On-line massage certifications that can be done through home study? Just wondering. Thanks in advance for any insight. |

| Gosh I hope not! Massage is hands-on and I would shudder to think I was being worked on by someone who had never touched another human being during their training  My therapists always talk about how they had to work on each other and even massage their instructors for exams. |

| Our Twisti Kristi is investigating this as well and reports that there is hand-on work periodically--the entire course is not via the web. Of course, she's looking at Thai massage which is done fully clothed and without oil to which I reply, what fun is that? |

| Well Yes, I understand that massage is hands-on, but I beleive there is alot of text study, and visuals that could be completed via the internet. Just like yoga...you can't learn it from a book. Just asked a question. |

| Donut - I expect any online course would have to have some video or something going on as well but really, I mean the people I talk to say they have hands on work constantly, with constant feedback and correction. Working the theoretical in with the practical at the same time really improves the learning, I think. As with learning yoga from a book, sometimes it just has to be that way, but if I saw an internet diploma when I went for a massage, I would not be too sure I would be staying unless the person could convince me they had also done a serious practicum. Besides, you know what those people who hang out online all the time are like, right? Freaks and weirdos!  |
