Here is my next article:
The five sheaths
============
Today I am going to explain something about the Five Sheaths or Koshas. Yoga says that the real self (atman or soul) is covered with five layers or sheaths. The five sheaths shield the true nature of the self and hence they prevent it from obtaining true liberation. The five sheaths are...

| A normal practitioner should start from grosser to thiner layers and conquer all. That's why Yogis spend lives in the search of true liberation. | favorited,
where would the joy of work fit in?
like the joy felt when getting a job well done
or the joy of harvest

| The joy can be classified in three ways - Tamasik Joy, Rajasik Joy and Sattavic Joy.
The joy obtained by wrong means, troubling others is Tamasik joy. For example, some one steals money and enjoys luxeries. This is tamasik joy.
The joy obtained by right means but expecting the fruits of one's work is rajasik joy. For example, some one works hard in office for the sake of promotion. This is rajasik joy.
The joy obtained by selfless work is sattvik joy. For example, some one helps poor and needy and in turn doesn't expect anything. This is sattvik joy.
Most of the people get rajasik joy but a true Karma Yogi gets sattvik joy. Though the feeling of joy falls under Anandamaya Kosha one should strive to go from inferior to superior quality of joy.
