Subject: Yoga Works' James Brown in DC

Asana and the Architecture of Yoga with James Brown - Teacher and dedicated pratitioner intensive at Inspired Yoga, 1115 U St., NW #202, Washington, DC. August 11-12.

Patanjali said that when we meditate, the body should be stable and comfortable. Asana practice is a tool that makes the body a strong container for the spirit that is easy to live in and feels good. In these workshops, we will practice asana with a focused awareness of the guidelines that Patanjali handed down to us. This will be enhanced by a more modern understanding of the fine points of safe and effective alignment of the individual postures.

Restorative Postures and The Eight-Limbed Philosophy of Patanjali, Friday August 11, 6:30-8:30pm, $35

Breaking Down the Sun Salutes and Building Standing Poses from the Ground up, Saturday August 12, 9:00am-12:00pm, $45

Backbends and Inversions: Taking the Body in a New Direction, Saturday August 12, 1:30-3:30pm, $35
