Expert Yogi Posts: 5098 Location: Somewhere in the Mountains of Western NC | BB, you better stop that!! I once had a cell phone number that ended in 1666. It didn't bother me at all, but God, whenever you told someone the number they always freaked out...especially up here where I live in the bible belt. Needless to say now my numbers end in 1235...bet ya can't guess the rest of it,

As you already know Mish, I am here in NY, or there in NY as the case may be. Was up at 5:15am this morning in order to get to the conference in time for our 7-8:30 session. Nothing I was into in the second session but I did a two-hour with Gary Kraftsow which was very interesting. Tomorrow (Sunday) we teach from 9-11 and then we are off from 11-1 coming back for Savasana and the Five Vayus from 1-3pm. What's "dunch"?

Expert Yogi Posts: 1738 Location: right where I'm supposed to be | Ughhhhhhh, couldn't sleep (only 4 hours at most). Have to be out the door by 4:30 a.m. to meet my girls and head in to the city. Bruce...the photo is at this beautiful estate out here on Long Island called "Planting Fields. This is a pagoda (I think that's the correct word) by the pool. The property is 400 acres of magnificent views. It's really breathtaking. Purna....Dunch is lunch/dinner See ya later! I'm stiff and sore today. I'll be the one in Balasana most of the day I might just fall asleep during Aadil's last session Mish If you look at the house in the back, you can see the pagodas that extend off, that is a close up of the picture we took Edited by mishoga 2006-09-17 3:41 AM Attachments ---------------- mcoeview_jpg.jpeg (37KB - 230 downloads)

Expert Yogi Posts: 1738 Location: right where I'm supposed to be | Alright, who here has taken Shiva Rea's Yoga Trance Dance workshop or class? That class was amazing. I came in with strangers and left more loving with many fellow Yogis and Yoginis. For someone like me with touch issues, this was a huge leap to allow others to touch/hug me and me them. This workshop was awesome. I don't think I've ever sweat so much. Mish

Oh oh--she's coming to Houston in November--don't think I'll go now--thanks Mish!

Expert Yogi Posts: 1738 Location: right where I'm supposed to be | Why not Bruce? She has this intense energy that infects you. You can't help but get caught up in all that goes on around her. I can't wait to take another workshop with her. Well, I guess I shouldn't say why not? You know what rocks your boat....true?? Mish

Expert Yogi Posts: 1738 Location: right where I'm supposed to be | OK, I have to describe this class. Session started walking around and making eye contact with everyone in the room (150 peeps) We started in sukhasana and anjali mudra working the hands (finger tips touching each chakra) chanting Ohm Then we connected with the chakra that spoke to us and focused on the chanting and small movement of the upper torso. Music was slow and hypnotic, slowing increasing in intensity (2 hour workshop, 1.5 of constant movement=sweating) We went through cat/cow with slow movements, down dog, rising slowly and focusing on movement. No particular movement. Just following what are body wanted to do. Once we were stnading we then walked around and openly gave hugs. Then she turned up music so we could feel the beat, slow african, world beats. We just moved. We kept our eyes closed and just moved to the music, letting it pulse through our bodies. it grew. you could tell we all started apprehensively and in no time we let loose. It wasn't about doing anything any particular way. We were clapping, making noises, screaming, moving. After an hour of this movement shirts started coming off (exercise bras exposed) sweat was pouring from us all. I don't know how to describe this. It was amazing. People were completely letting go. It was an amazing experience. She brings this out. 150 people in a trance state just moving, making noise, letting go of inhibition, feeling free within their body. The energy in the room was thick. It was so wicked cool. I did this no justice. Boy did me and my girlie pal stink but it was great! she loved it. She never chanted so I know when we started she was taken back. At the end, she said she loved it and loved Shiva. I love her way too. I would like to study under her. Mish

I was just kidding you Mish--it sounds wonderful--I've seen Anna's viseos--woo hoo!. Glad you were prompted to describe it and you did great--the wicked cool and the shirts coming off has me re-inspired...and now I'm NOT kidding You're a good yogini lady...even with the cemetary picture thing.

mish- she has a double CD combo that has a music CD and a dance trance session. It was really cool just doing it in my house... I can only imagine what it would be like with 150 pp. I felt a little silly in my house dancing with my eyes closed-- but I LOVED all the opening exercises. I tell you, I really love her DVDs too- yoga shakti and lunar yoga are my favorites. They're cool because they are slighty more advanced than some of my beginner DVDs- but not so much so that I get confused. I'd love to go to a workshop with her! Glad to hear you had fun!

I took her trance dance workshop intensive last spring @ Exhale in NY. I enjoyed it also, it really opened up an entirely different way of looking at yoga and movement! Did you know Shiva has a backround in dance also? ( hee hee, that's funny... Shiva has a backround in dance? no kidding! get it? ) I would love to train with her one day, but it seems most of her trainings are in Cali right now. I find her very inspiring, but I'll have to settle for her visits to NY and Boston for the time being. When was your workshop?

I will make sure way in advance to mark off my calender when a conference is in town. I really enjoyed being around like minded people and I love the city. it was a fun day and I ran into so many local yoga teachers. Mish Edited by mishoga 2006-10-01 1:33 PM
