Subject: Midwest Yoga Conference


Hey everyone,
This is put on by the same group who did the Art of Vinyasa Conference in Miami. I hear this is a great one! I met a few people in Miami who had gone to this one and said it was awesome!
I wish I could go, but I can't really afford (money or time) two in a year... I'm going to hold out and see if they do another in Miami this year. BUT, it really was a great experience ( I rambled about it quite a bit last year)... I found the instructors to be very compassionate and really relatable- they weren't "rockstar" yoga teachers.

I'm going to reveal my prejudices a little bit.  I grew up in Kentucky, and I've spent much of my life trying to distance myself from all the things that I associate with "being midwestern".  Maybe a "midwestern" yoga conference would be good for me?  It's not one of those affairs where you are hyper-expected to use good table manners, follow local social conventions, and not take "the Lord's name" "in vain"?

Am I taking the Lord's name in vain if I say "Om nama Sivaya" when I am entering an arm balance but then fall out of it?  Was my prayer in vain?

--- Ms. Bay Guy is calling me to bed!  Wait -- I couldn't type that in the midwest, could I?  This is confusing.  Arrgh!!!!

Hey, I'm on the East Coast baby!!
But there seems to be a pretty good line- up of yoga teachers coming to this..
paul grilley, beryl bender birch, johnny kest, lilias folan, eddie modestini & nicki doane, max strom, rama berch, rusty wells, some pretty hot dude named moses..... so you MIGHT be able to chant "Om Namah Shivaya"
