Subject: transplants

What are the things to watch out for with students who have had heart or kidney transplants? For kidney transplants, can they lie on their fronts and also do postures such as forward bends, twisting disturb them?

Once the transplant is done, the transplanted organ does the job of the previously removed organ in a partial way. Translplanting is a surgical procedure and therefore leaves a scar tissue. The one who has experience with surgeries on a multiple basis can only answer this question. It is NOT a yoga question.

So, this question should be asked of the surgeon who performed the transplant as to what movements or stresses the scar tissue can be subjected to.

Once you know that, you should avoid the poses which are out of the stresses permitted.
