Hey check out this post about 1/2 bound lotus pose on FitSugar.com (http://fitsugar.com/173537). The photos are beautiful and they show variations in the pose that you can work on before ultimately doing the pose.

I've met her before. She teaches at Yoga Vermont or she used too.

She can do some really advanced postures. I don't think we've seen the depth of her challenges yet.

Maybe I'll send her one

Love that space she's practicing in -- is that Yoga Vermont?

i love that pose, right nowI can only do the full expression with right leg bent; my left hip still isn't open enough.

i'm trying not to force myself, i'm working to gently release my hips so I don't damage the ligaments in my kneesĀ

She should make it a balance-grab hold of the ankle-as it is she is not challenging her balance ability, and she is providing uneven stretch to the hamstrings as she leans to that side. Rubbish challenge.

yes, she is at yoga vermont or vermont yoga.
That's how I recognized it, actually. It's this old mill that they converted into a studio. The halls are so big. They are like rooms themselves. There's this lovely river right next to the studio too.

I've been going there the last two summers for yoga vacations.

Well, back to the scorpion pose variation. I did the pose last night but my foot did not touch my head. It's hard to say how far away I was, probably about 6 inches. But, the posture felt wonderful. I really felt it in my hips too. Very unusual feeling. Trying a new posture is always a little strange the first few times. I really liked it.

Eric
