Hi there,
I'm emma and have recently decided to improve my health. I want to try yoga as i feel this would help my mind AND body. I want to lose weight and i have problems with depression and i.b.s. There seems to be so many different types of yoga that i'm not sure where to start considering my health issues, if someone has any advice i would be grateful.
Thank you.
xx

The best way to find your way is to try different ways. ;) Try different classes and chose the one that makes you feel good. No style of yoga is better than the other, they all have the same goal, just different ways of getting there.

So get out there and explore!

Hi Emma,

Try them all and see which method fits your personality type and needs!

For me, it's Power Yoga, and I particularly like Bryan Kest.

As for losing weight...beware of diets, they rarely work in the long term. I've lost 65 pounds since January of 2006. Check out my website to learn how!

From what your situation is, my advice is to obtain personal private instruction from an experienced teacher. Read my book, "Health and Yoga Aphorisms" to know what health means and how to obtain it. Yoga exercise does NOT give full health and that is a correct statement. As a part of Yoga many other things should be done.
